Cooking resources for kids

Wood Sprite is very much into cooking these days. She likes to do simple things all on her own, like preparing pitchers of lemonade, making sandwiches and toast, and anything else I’ll let her do. I’m wary about letting her around the stove; not just because she is eight, but because our stove is an old gas model with pilot lights that scares me. We have an electric one we are planning on installing and that will make me more comfortable.

Indy and I were not big Alton Brown fans in the past but he has grown on us over the years and I really like his quirky explanations of history and culture. I wish I liked eggnog but we aren’t big fans of it, either; nevertheless, I have many family members who love it and I may make some just for them this year.
