I don't think even Rauuul himself thinks he's ready to manage, nor is Dan the Man. But Bogar has punched all the tickets and seems ready in all respects. They have to wait for the contract end on Oct. 31 or have Arte Moreno's OK - I suspect Dipoto would rather not ask. I suspect they'll interview several of the guys being mentioned (Bud Black, Dan, Raul, the Coras, DiSarcina) but that Bogar will be the choice.

Seeing as how #Boston just signed three or four other GM's, and #Milwaukee and #Detroit are off the table, DiPoto appears to be a Mariner unless he signs with the Phillies (Blech!). #Boston should let him out of his contract early so that he can get started on that Craig Kimbrel trade.

Not many teams do. Would be best story since #Boston coming back in world series to win it all

Reply - mickiholley - 9/25/15 10:22am
that would be sweet

Among young analytic types, DiPoto seems like a clean win over Ben Cherington, Cherington has presided over some world class dysfunction in #Boston the last umpteen years. There was the Carl Crawford, A-Gone controversy, the Lackey chickengate controversy, and now Hanley Ramirez and Pablo Sandoval controversies. Cherington and his managers do not command the respect of their veterans.

Dombrowski already went to #Boston. The M's reportedly were in on him but lost out to Beantown. He has a track record of two successful tenures, which would have been a huge plus in my #Book.

Ugh. Just looked for the first time at the overall MLB standings by winning percentage. In the AL we are "ahead of" (=behind) only #Oakland and #Boston. BUT. There are six, count 'em, SIX really bad teams in the NL, with winning percentages lower than #Boston.I'm not up on draft matters like most around here, but that puts us somewhere around ninth in the draft order if the season finished today.
Not to worry, though. I guess it probably doesn't matter much, since whoever we draft usually ends up busting anyway.
