Interestingly, I just searched the #Toronto newspapers' sports pages assuming there would be a hue and cry about Revere's at bat, but there was not single headline about it, not even a mention in the game articles!! I'm dumbfounded. Did the reporters not even watch the game and base their articles upon online play-by-play? How can this be? The TV broadcast cut to Revere pounding away with his bat on a trash can. But apparently this kind of travesty is so commonplace it's ho-hum.

Ben Revere and Jays were ROBBED in the 9th inning last night. 2-1 count, tying and go-ahead runs in scoring position with one out, a struggling Wade Davis sails a fastball easily 6 inches off the plate outside and up. Ump calls it a strike, making what should have been a 3-1 count a 2-2 count instead. Revere forced into defensive mode instead of offensive mode, flails at a breaking ball and strikes out. A livid Revere is seen in the dugout hammering away on a trash can with his bat.

Based on what I've read, Bud Black looks like a strong possibility in #Washington, and Joey Cora is getting favorable press in #San_Diego, so the field might narrow quickly. DeMarlo Hale is another guy that has coached with Bogar and was interviewed when McClendon was hired if my memory serves.

That's where I am, Matt. Mostly because I think that's the way the M's will operate. I love Pompey, but #Toronto is probably not going to cut a guy like that lose without us ponying up large pitching talent. A guy like Jay is a great fit, then. MId-level $ and likely swapable. I have been pretty confident that the M's will let Morrison go in favor of Trumbo at 1B, but I am less sure today, for some reason. I wouldn't be surprised at a Morrison/Montero deal in '16 now.

It's fun being in the hunt numerically, but there are too many teams between #Houston and the Ms. And they all play each other.

Is there any AL team that can stick with the Dodgers, Cardinals, or even Pirates? KC faltering, #Toronto is scary offensively even without Tulo, but beyond Price they can't match up.

If you read the Nightengale material Ice linked us to it sounds an awful lot like Williams is likely already a done deal, the only exception being if Williams decides instead to opt for #Toronto. In other words, the M's have offered the position to Williams. The only potential holdup is on Williams' end. I...can't...believe...it. Perhaps the new M's motto is, "Embrace Mediocrity-- It Feels Good!"
