Allergies Arrive in NYC

We’ve just made it through a particularly harsh winter here in NYC, so when spring arrives most people tend to rejoice. There are some of us, however, who do not see spring as the wonderful thing that others do. We are the people with terrible allergies and the changing of the season means sneezing, runny noses, red eyes and general discomfort all-around. What’s more, the ridiculous cold of winter has given rise to a phenomenon that is being referred to as a “pollen tsunami”.

More Corruption in the System – NYC’s Senate Leader Arrest Rumored

In yet another case of a politician gone bad (and actually being caught), Dean Skelos, the New York State Senate leader, and his son may end up facing corruption charges soon. This is the long-awaited end to a federal inquiry that they’ve become the focus of recently. So what are the particulars? The usual – Skelos has been making deals with businesses and giving them preferential treatment in exchange for kickbacks.
