Carrie movie marketing prank: Brilliant or ridiculous?

Just in case you didn't already know, there's a little remake of a pretty well known horror classic called Carrie coming out later this month, just in time for Halloween. In what might be one of the more brilliant marketing movie-related stunts ever pulled (and certainly among the most elaborate), a staged horror show took place inside a New York City coffee shop. The victims? The patrons, who had absolutely no idea what was going on.

The Ainsworth

If you’re looking for a great New York sports bar that has a classy atmosphere, check out The Ainsworth.  With televisions everywhere and some pretty good food, this place is great for watching the game.  With reasonably priced drinks and a casual crowd, this place is also great for just stopping by when you want to have a few beers at the end of the night.  Due to the popularity, it can get pretty crowded there (especially on game night), so make sure to show up early if you want to get a good seat.  Has anyone been to The Ainsworth

The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog

Located on the southern tip of Manhattan, The Dead Rabbit pays homage to some of New York’s most infamous history.  With a fine selection of beer and whiskey among other things, this two-story bar prides itself on creating an environment where the customer always comes first.  They’ve managed to win a whole pile of awards, including making several “best of” lists.  It may be a bit pricier than some other places, but the ambiance and excellent craftsmanship of their drinks makes The Dead Rabbit well worth a visit or two.

When Do You Start Thinking About a No-Hitter?

... their white-knuckle win in Houston was the key that unlocked the season.  Now sitting at 4-and-0, the Seahawks are in a position that feels about like Justin Verlander's after he retires, oh, let's say, the first 11 batters he faces.

Bill James jumped into a debate one time, where a bunch of guys were laughing about fans who were so naive as to mention no-hitters in the 4th inning.  James said, "oh, I think about it in the first inning.  It's a good way to spend the first few innings, until the first batter gets on."

PDT

PDT, or “Please Don’t Tell”, is a classy drinking establishment located in EastVillage.  If you want someplace that radiates style and intimacy, this is the place to be.  Don’t expect this to be a hotspot for dancing and partying, however, as PDT prides itself on being someplace above the rest.  You’ll pay a little more, of course, but the ambiance is worth the extra cash if exclusive is what you’re looking for.  For those that enjoy the upscale yet casual New York lounge, give P
