Homeschooling Hearts has a HUGE list of freebies to use while learning art and music.

Have you ever wished that someone would just curate a bunch of YouTube videos for educational purposes? Eh, me neither; I like to browse and find things! But it is nice to have so many cool videos in one spot. At WatchKnowLearn, there are hundreds of videos that are designed for learning.

New DVD releases this week include ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ and ‘The Book Thief’

In case you missed it, I just blogged about some of the biggest potential blockbusters that will hit theaters between now and May. But really, let’s be honest: Most of us are opting out of the theater experience in favor of renting and/or streaming movies these days. And fortunately, we’ve got some really nice new DVD choices at the moment – certainly enough to please most.

Six Crazy-Scary-Insane Movie Villains

Ever since I first developed an appreciation for the cinema, I have had a certain respect for those actors that are capable of portraying truly great villains. A hero is just not as interesting if the person he struggles against is generic or does not feel dangerous in some way. Unfortunately, most villains are little more than obstacles for the protagonists to overcome. But sometimes, an actor (or actress) comes forward and puts on a performance that is positively cringe-worthy.

Today I have decided to put together a list of six of my favorite movie and TV villains. There are plenty more out there, of course, but these are some that were so vicious that they made me want to change the locks on my doors and buy a gun - just in case. These are not proper horror-movie villains (you can find a good list of those at this site). I concentrated mainly on the characters that are creepy and crazy. Hopefully, some of these are your favorites as well.

Dating for the New York Geek

When you live in a city as big as New York, finding the right person for you can be difficult. And if you both happen to be of the geek persuasion, it can also make finding good date spots a little more complicated. Luckily, geeks and nerds are “in” this decade, so there are plenty of places that cater to what you and your someone special may find fun. Bars all over the city host game and trivia nights, so you can drink and have fun. Or just go the gaming route and hit up Brooklyn’s Barcade and plug quarters into old-school arcade games together.

Dating in the Country’s Geekiest City

You may not know it, but Atlanta has been rated as one of the top ten cities for geeks in the entire country. Thus, if you’re one of those that ranks themselves among the geeks in your city, dating turns into a different sort of affair. While a trip to the movies or a nice dinner certainly aren’t out, sometimes it pays to think geek. Combine a casual dining experience with a test of knowledge by heading to Ray’s New York Pizza on Tuesdays to take part in their geek trivia night. Hook up with Metro Atlanta Geeks and spend some time with other like-minded singles and couples.

Celebrating with Someone Special in New York

New York is filled with fun and exciting things to do, but rarely does the energy of the city come together like it does during one of the city’s amazing festivals. Grab a date and see what’s coming up on the calendar and you’ll have something entertaining to fill your day. Literature lovers should check out September’s Brooklyn Book Festival, a giant event that costs nothing and allows you to meet some of your favorite authors along with some of the industry’s rising stars.

New York's "lost cow tunnels"

Local legend has long held that beneath New York City are large tunnels that were once used to usher cattle from the docks to the slaughterhouse inland, without having to clog the city streets with a cattle stampede. But are these “cow tunnels” myth or reality? Gizmodo investigated the rumors, and found some interesting corroboration – enough to label them “semi-mythical.”
