The Changing Face of Bike Shops in NYC

New York’s Citi Bike program has been a great way for the city to get people to start using bikes. This keeps people healthier and helps to clear up traffic both on the road and in the subway. So, on the surface it seems like the idea is a good one all around, particularly for those that just can’t afford bikes. The only problem is, bike shops in the city are beginning to feel the crunch.

NYC is Hell on 20-Somethings

Most people are familiar with the story - you go to college, rack up a pile of student loans and then can’t find a decent job. But for those living in New York, the cost of living is so high that this life-altering event can pretty much prevent you from even calling NYC your home. The rising cost of college has combined with the rising cost of living in NYC and made the city a veritable death trap for those in debt. Explore NYC’s Unusual Side

When you feel like breaking the usual habits and doing something different, look around the city to find some unique places and events to experience. Being what it is, New York is full of fun and exotic things. Take a trip to Trapeze SchoolNew York and have a few lessons in the acrobatic arts. Go on a scavenger hunt with a company like Accomplice or Watson Adventures. It’s a fun way to get out and explore the city while accomplishing a strange and interesting task.

So when the mayors of both New York and Los Angeles decided to make a bet on the outcome of the Stanley Cup, it was entertaining. What’s even better is that their local pride goes so far that they’re willing to humiliate themselves on Jimmy Kimmel Live if they lose.

Sometimes you need some time away from all the hustle and bustle of the big city. Sure, New York is a haven for those that love culture, entertainment and distraction, but you can only take so much before you want to explode. And even taking a walk through Central Park doesn’t really get you away from all the activity. Thanks to some (other) clever folks on Internet, I’ve got a few places I can recommend where you might actually be able to find some isolation and rest.

Scout Willis Speaks Up about Her Topless Protest

When the daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore walked around NYC with her breasts hanging bare, she was doing it in protest of what she sees as unfair and sexist treatment by the folks that run Instagram. Unfortunately, the general news community seems to have been more focused on the fact that someone semi-famous was outside naked in the streets rather than what she was trying to say.
