It’s no secret that the city of New York has plenty going on beneath the surface. Tunnels lace the underground, providing the means for subway trains to move about. But sometimes these tunnels are no longer needed for their intended purpose. This is when the many homeless of the city begin to use them as a place to lay their heads.

In yet another “They’re just like us!” moment, Drew Barrymore was spotted riding the New York subway. According to rigorous investigative journalism, she was applying her make-up, wearing a hat and glasses and eating a salad. Of course, if she was trying to hide, she didn’t do that good of a job, since she ended up taking a selfie and posting it to her instagram.

New York City is a place that attracts people from all over the world. As a result, we’ve seen quite a few famous faces come out of the city or settle down to make their homes there. Here’s a spotlight on just one of those celebrity personalities.

Woody Allen - A man whose name is synonymous with Hollywood and Broadway, Woody Allen has created a countless number of award-winning movies and received critical praise for nearly everything he’s done. He also happened to be born in the Bronx and raised in Brooklyn.

For active couples, a day out together can often best be spent getting a little exercise and enjoying the summer weather. Whether you prefer biking, walking or something more adventurous, there’s plenty in New York to keep you going. Try a Footbiking Tour, a unique way to get out, stay healthy and see the city at the same time. Or take a trip to Brooklyn Boulders. Those that love to climb but don’t have the time to drive to the nearest state park will find this a good substitute.
