<p>#Washington Capitals' superstar and captain Alex Ovechkin has sunk to a new level when he announced that he was going to break the stick of his good friend and former teammate Mike Green. Green signed with the #Detroit Red Wings in the off season as a free agent after spending his entire career with the Caps. Whether Ovi was just kidding or if he really does go after Green will be interesting to watch when the Caps and Wings play on Tuesday.</p>
<p>The #Detroit Red Wings captain Henrik Zetterberg has scored his 300th goal against the #Toronto Maple Leafs! That is quite the achievement for the 35 year old Swede. It was not a pretty goal but the main thing is that it counted and he is now in very elite company!</p>
<p>NHL Player Safety has suspended Mark Stone of the Ottawa Senators for an illegal hit on #Detroit Red Wings' Landon Ferraro.</p>
<p>The #Detroit Red Wings' Gustav Nyquist had a horse named after him (is that a honor?). That horse has won the Breeder's Cup. I wonder if the pressure is now on Nyquist, the NHL player, to win big so that Nyquist, the horse, doesn't show him up!!</p>

<p>#Detroit Red Wings' Luke Glendening has been a little roughed up this season but that is still no excuse for his less than stellar performance. He has only 7 shots in 9 games.</p>

<p>Then there's still Rauuuul. Another possibility for bullpen coach? - it doesn't have to be a pitcher, and Raul spent some time as a catcher, just like Lloyd, whom Leyland originally used as BP coach in #Detroit. But having him on the staff could only be a plus and another link to Ms tradition.</p>
<p>The #Detroit Red Wings, sans Mike Babcock, started with a lot of finger-pointing during training camp, but have come out as a strong team. Maybe, the head coach change is exactly what they needed to start working as a team. They have not shown any cohesiveness since the retirement of Nicholas Lindstrom and Thomas Holmstrom.</p>
<p>Seeing as how #Boston just signed three or four other GM's, and #Milwaukee and #Detroit are off the table, DiPoto appears to be a Mariner unless he signs with the Phillies (Blech!). #Boston should let him out of his contract early so that he can get started on that Craig Kimbrel trade.</p>
