#Texas attorney general has made daily fantasy sports games that charge players to play illegal in #Texas. Many states are outlawing fantasy sports that charge to play.

Matt, over the last two years as a Mariner, #Austin #Jackson provided us 1.5 WAR total (B-Ref). Leonys gave #Texas 5.7 during that same time. I see this as a substantial upgrade.

No one said Kivlehan is worthless... But the context of the list is important when considering the #5 of that list... Clearly Martin being #5 in the #Texas list in 2012 is more impressive, seeing as how #Texas had 2 in the top 5 MLB prospects, 5 in the top 100 and Martin his own self was #79. For comparison the Mariners a have ONE players in the top 100... and his name was not Patrick... So YES, Moe, it DOES make a difference if the #5 was in the cardinals (well, cardinals farm isn't that great right now either) or cubs org instead of ours...

Explain to me, if you guys can, why Kivlehan just wasn't included in the original deal. Kivlehan and Wilhelmson for their glove and their less useful arm would have been smoother. I'm not sure I would have liked it any more than I do now, but it would have had symmetry. I would have liked to see Kivlehan patrol CF to get a sense of his chops there. Alas....#Texas got some taters and we got leather. If the leather doesn't hit .720-ish vR, then it can't chase down enough flies in Safeco CF to make it worthy. If he's the

So...to #Texas...this deal was Kivlehan for Martin, with Wilhelmson as a useful complimentary piece. I still think this deal blows.

I think DiPoto is gravely underestimating Safeco's ability to destroy even good hitters if they are a bad park fit. Ask future HOFer Adrian Beltre. It didn't eat Cruz, but Cruz is a better park fit. I can't say any of the new acquisitions are likely to find more than the occasional #Texas Leaguer. Still waiting to see the whole plan. And to watch Kivlehan turn into Nelson Cruz for #Texas. That'll be fun.
