The least Interesting Man in the World

.

"He once beat Garry Kasparov at chess.  Using his left hand."

Dr. D just watched a reality show in which a lady with a $175,000 budget shopped for houses.  She wanted three bedrooms, two places to take a bath, stainless appliances, granite in the kitchen, a sun room, a spacious back yard, and a bird sanctuary for her telepathic parrot, who had final say over the purchase.

The Mariners wanted a right hand Master Blaster who could beat most lefties with his breath, and he had to play center field.  To which we can confidently say, "?!"

Their budget was limited to relief pitchers from Boston College.  Incredibly, they pulled this transaction off, and secured a Mark McLemore-class benchie at no cost to anybody, except Gordon Gross.  Dr. D's awe knows no bounds.

.

"He sent his checking account information to an email from Nigeria, and actually got his $400,000."

Man survives 3 days inside sunken ship

Thanks to a combination of physics and good fortune, ship's cook Harrison Okene was able to survive for three days in the wreckage of his ship, which sank off the coast of Nigeria and ended up about 100 feet below the surface. Okene was able to find a small air pocket, and fashioned a small raft which kept him out of the water (and thus prevented hypothermia).

George Karl isn’t the only winning executive on the Nuggets roster

While the criticism of the NBA’s choice for the top Executive of the Year is rolling in quick, the people of the Mile High area aren't complaining. After an unexpected first-round exit from the playoffs, the fans in Denver needed a pick-me-up. While hearing their coach, George Karl, was named Coach of the Year was a push in the right direction, Thursday’s announcement that Masai Ujiri was voted Executive of the Year (EOY) only helped to heal Nuggets fans’ pain.
