After 20 minutes of lunch-break research, I have to be of the opinion that a Trumbo trade to #Colorado (or #Baltimore or anywhere else for that matter) won't include a notable addition. The Tacoma outfield is soon to be depleted with Blash high on peoples' Rule 5 radars (speaking of athletic outfielders albeit with high Ks...). Not that the AAA lineup should be prioritized over #Seattle's, but I fear that we have lost more depth than we have gained in some ways.

Hmmmmm? Mariners are evidently working hard to cut a deal with the Rockies for Trumbo. It would be easy to believe that some sort of CarGo swap might be in the works, with #Colorado saving $8M or so this year and $20M next year. But we would be including other pieces in that swap, I think..And there is this about Carlos Gonzales: He's a career .986 guy in Coors but just .752 on the road. But for Trumbo, I might be glad to get him and his (gulp) $20M paycheck in '17. Maybe. Just maybe.

Update on the Travis Hamonic trade front:

There are 5 serious bidders in the race now and it looks like Hamonic might get his wish to be closer to Western #Canada and family.
Here are the 5 contenders:

#Winnipeg Jets (the Jets are believed to be Hamonic's preference)
#Calgary Flames
#Edmonton Oilers
#Colorado Avalanche
#Minnesota #Wild

#Colorado replaced Smith with an all-star...#Oakland replaced Smith with a few extra minutes in a metered steam room (they literally trade players for clubhouse amenities, they're so poor)...I do not think the Mariners need to emulate #Oakland's willingness to punt players to save a buck...we need to win. Now. And #San_Diego replaced him with Upton. So...yeah. Not convinced that Smith's production can be so easily replaced. Especially since...um...we are TERRIBLE at that.

#Colorado replaced him in RF with Cuddyer. #Oakland replaced him at DH/LF with Callaspo and to some extent (his PA's) with a 29 year old Vogt, who had 175 not really impressive MLB PA's under his belt. SD replaced him in LF with a more athletic (Gee!) Justin Upton. OK, we're not finding an Upton, but the other guy-types can be found. He's likely ours and I'm not bothered about that. But DiPoto likes those Upton types.

It was sunny and 60 on Sunday here! Haha, gotta love #Colorado.

I would praise a guy too, if I was trading him? :) (kidding!) Smith also lengthened the lineup for #Colorado, #Oakland and #San_Diego.....and they all traded him. #Colorado traded him for a young RP and a young SP. One has been out of the majors since '13 and the other since '14. They were expendable types. #Oakland traded him for RP Luke Gregerson (who just had a great year with #Houston). #San_Diego traded to us him for Maurer. Clearly he's not untouchable, despite his ability to lengthen the lineup.
