Happy Oscars day, everyone! As I sit here counting down the hours to tonight’s big Academy Awards show, I thought why not highlight some of the worst that cinema had to offer us in 2013? Last night, the 34^th Annual Razzie Awards were held in Hollywood, and in my opinion, they definitely got it right.

Movie review: 'American Hustle'

If you read the headline carefully, you won't be surprised to find that I'm positively gushing about David O. Russell's latest effort, American Hustle. Not only is it a perfectly cast film, it's one of the best 70s-era films I've ever seen. And no, this is not a perfect film, but it's wonderfully wicked at times and absolutely brilliantly acted by an ensemble cast that left me gobsmacked. Yep, I said gobsmacked. Points for using that in a sentence today?

To the microbrewery or bust!

When traveling to Australia you’ll find two things out very quickly. First, Australia, specifically booze that isn’t subsidized wine, is very expensive. Secondly, non-craft, regular, Australian beers taste pretty horrendous. While I’ll take a Carlton Draught over a Bintang any day of the week, Australia’s cheap beers aren’t that cheap, and are much worse than what you find throughout the states.
