New Nintendo 3DS won't include AC adapter

Whaaaaat?

Nintendo recently announced their plans to release the next generation of 3DS XL handheld in North America… without an AC adapter. But before you protest, know this: Nintendo meant it as a favor to you, the faithful Nintendo consumer.

The 3DS XL will be able to use the same AC adapter as many of their earlier handhelds. And Nintendo knows that its core fanbase are people who buy all of the Nintendo things, so most of them probably already have at least one AC adapter that will work. Why charge more for an AC adapter that its fans won't need?

If you do not have an AC adapter, be sure to buy the official Nintendo one when you buy your 3DS XL handheld. They will cost less than $10, and be aware that buying a cheaper third-party AC adapter might void your warranty.
