Link between fish oil and prostate cancer

Taking the supplements can increase rates by 71%

A recent study offers alarming news for fans of the fish oil supplement. Taking fish oil capsules on a regular basis may increase the risk of prostate cancer by as much as 71%. The studies are preliminary, and raise a lot of questions.

For one thing, people in japan eat a ton of fish - yet their incidence of prostate cancer is very low. And what about women? (Only men were included in the study.) Could it be that something in the processing of the tablets creates a carcinogenic compound? How much is "too much" fish oil - because omega-3s are supposed to be very healthy for you.

Dunno - but it's pretty alarming news.
