Wasting Time at One of Austin’s Best Bookstores

If your special someone happens to be the literary type, why not take a day out to spend time at one of the city’s amazing bookstores? Though these are by no means the only bookstores in town, they are some that other Austin residents highly recommend. BookPeople sits at the top of the list and for good reason. They have events all year long, an indoor café, tons of books to choose from and they’ve even been rated as Austin’s best for 15 years in a row. Or if you’re in the mood to read some more radical literature, head to Monkeywrench Books. If politics and justice is your thing, stop by one of their discussion brunches and chat for a while. And don’t forget to stop off at Malvern Books. It’s a relatively new addition to the Austin book scene, but it’s quickly becoming known as one of the best places to find the works independent authors.
