Cozy Up Together at the Hayden Planetarium

With the cold hand of Winter creeping ever closer, choosing a date destination that's both intimate and indoorsy becomes a must. Instead of heading out to the usual restaurant or movie theater this season, try adding a splash of science to your romance – while keeping warm – with an educational night under the stars at the Hayden Planetarium.

As part of the American Museum of Natural History, the Hayden Planetarium brings the galaxy to life with a variety of lectures and events happening all year round. From Space Shows like Dark Universe (narrated by Neil deGrasse Tyson) to introductory lectures for aspiring astronomers, there really is something for everyone in the Hayden universe. This December, the planetarium is even hosting a Winter Skies and Telescope Party, which I must say, sounds like so much fun.

Most events require registration and many have varying fees (discounted for members), but they're all undoubtedly well worth the price to get through the door. In fact, if you want to ensure you never have trouble finding fun things to do away from the weather, now might be the perfect time to check out all that AMNH has to offer. Nothing opens up possibilities for indoor entertainment quite like a museum membership.
