Exploring the Beauty of New Orleans’ Churches

As one of the country’s oldest and most historically rich cities, New Orleans has a wealth of wonderful sites to see, including some hundreds-of-years-old churches. The next time you have the urge to wander the streets, grab your special someone and check out the amazing churches together. St. Louis Cathedral is of particular historical significance, as it happens to be the oldest continuously active Roman Catholic Church in the entire country. At nearly 300 years old (with two rebuilds during the centuries), this is a piece of New Orleans that shouldn’t be missed. Our Lady of Guadalupe Church is another beautiful structure, a plain yet elegant mixture of columns and arches. And don’t forget St. Patrick’s Church, a 200-year-old masterpiece of architecture that’s also the second oldest parish in the entire city.
