Virginia’s best parks

The best parks in Virginia

With fall color season on its way, now is a great time to plan a trip to one of Virginia’s amazing parks. It’s a fun, affordable way to get outdoors and enjoy the beautiful weather. Here are our top three picks for the best parks in Virginia.

Breaks Interstate Park

Known as “The Grand Canyon of the South,” this park features an incredible view of the surrounding countryside, on 4,500 acres of wilderness which also happens to have amenities like an Olympic size swimming pool and horse rentals.

High Bridge Trail State Park

Aptly named, this park’s central feature is a railroad trail which includes the spectacular High Bridge, 2,400 feet long and 125 feet above the Appomattox River. This is a great place for hiking, biking, and horseback riding.

Kiptopeke State Park

This beautiful saltwater beach on Virginia’s eastern shore offers saltwater fishing, swimming in Chesapeake Bay, long walks on the beach, and a great picnic spot.
