The best parks in Vermont
With fall approaching, Vermont’s woods are getting ready for their annual showy display. Visiting a Vermont park is a great way to view the turning leaves without breaking the bank. Here are our picks for the top three parks in Vermont.
Widely considered to have the best views of any park in Vermont, Coolidge State Park is essentially unchanged since the time when it was created in the 1930s. Rustic campgrounds, fantastic backpacking, and magnificent views of the turning leaves.
Once a summer camp for boys, Kill Kare State Park is situated on a peninsula in Lake Champlain, with water on three sides. An excellent place for swimming, fishing, and boating, with incredible views of the Adirondack Mountains.
With one of the most-photographed locations in Vermont (the Owl’s Head promontory), this park features 26,000 acres of undeveloped forest and trails that wind through the countryside, stopping by ponds, rivers, and breathtaking views along the way.
