Visit a New Hampshire park

Get outdoors this weekend

With summer almost over (sorry!) now is a great time to get out and explore New Hampshire’s parks. It’s a fun, affordable way to get some fresh air and exercise. Here are our top three picks for the best parks in New Hampshire.

Odiorne Point

Looking to get away from the crowds? Check out Odiorne Point, which is the largest stretch of undeveloped shore on the New Hampshire coast. From tidepools to a lovely pebble beach, Odiorne Point is a great place for beachcombing, exploring, or just kicking back and enjoying the sun.

Franconian Notch State Park

This unique park is home to the Old Man of the Mountain, a giant stone formation that looks like a face. It also hosts an 800 foot gorge, Cannon Mountain which offers hiking in summer and skiing in winter.

Umbagog Lake State Park

This lovely little lakeside park features the usual host of campgrounds, plus a few which are only accessible by boat. Perfect for that isolated camping experience in the woods! The lake also has swimming, boating, fishing, kayak and canoe rentals, wildlife watching, and picnic areas.
