Idaho day trips

Day trips in Idaho

Idaho has some of the most spectacular scenery in the nation. Here are our top three picks for day trips if you and your partner want to get out and explore our amazing state.

The Snake River

Whether you go on a rafting tour or rent a kayak or canoe, floating down the Snake River is an incredible experience. Tours are available for just about every section of the river, for every skill level. Perfect for a hot summer day!

Visit the Sawtooth Mountains

Dubbed the “drive of a lifetime,” this scenic drive through the Sawtooths climbs over 5,000 feet from a desert basin to the rugged mountain terrain that Hemingway (among many others) found so dear.

Idaho Shakespeare Festival

Interested in something a little more cultured? Check out the Idaho Shakespeare Festival in Boise, which is held in an amphitheater along the Boise River, June through September every year.
