I'm on the record having said that Aoki was far more likely to be brought back in than Smith. I don't get the Smith thing. Not a bit. Well, a bit. He could be traded. He could be insurance. Take your pick. He demands a RHB to go with. That means Heredia or Guti. if we bring Guti back then "the getting younger and more athletic" stuff was mostly a GM's line of hoooey. Well, Gamel instead of Aoki and Vogs instead of Lind gets us younger, doesn't it. So I was wrong there.
There will be teams that give up an RP for a guy like Smith. It's been done before, you will remember.
