I had always viewed JeRi as having Angels teams that won an inordinate number of games for having Jared Weaver as the best pitcher. Nowhere was there any thought as to why Jered Weaver was the best pitcher on an upper payroll team.
Here it is:
JeRi doesn't trust top end pitchers enough to pay top end money to get them. JeRi doesn't like great pitching.
