I understand your frustration with Bevell. I shared it especially on the final play of the Super Bowl. He tends to overcomplicate things and throws way too many of those infernal bubble screens. Some of his choices in STL were indeed headscratchers, but Pete Carroll said the plan was to throw quick, short passes to offset the Rams' awesome pass rush vs. the Hawks' inexperienced OL. And, RE the last run -- a handoff out of the shotgun -- the Hawks do that all of the time and it often works just fine. They just got whooped up front on that one.

After the Super Bowl, Carroll vehemently defended Bevell. So, unless some team hires him away, Bevell will remain the OC. As frustrating as he can be, there are times when he calls great games as well.

The simple fact is that ANY OC is going to annoy us at times -- Mike Holmgren took the Hawks to the Super Bowl, too, and his conservativism bugged the crap out of many of us.
