When you’re seeking out someplace for that special date night (or day), look deeper into the city of Austin than just the restaurants, nightclubs and other usual fare. For a memorable time out together, consider finding one of the city’s more unusual places and doing something truly unique. One amazing sight to see is the CongressAvenueBridge and the mass bat emergence that occurs every night from mid-March to November. You can see this spectacle from land or even take to the water in a kayak or on a special tour boat. Another odd but interesting sight is the Cathedral of Junk, a huge construction made out of and filled with tons of garbage. Or for a strange midnight adventure, journey to Barton Springs during the full moon and witness a huge gathering of Austin locals as they all join together to howl at the moon.
