This is Felix' sole weakness at this point. You said it wonderfully, Doc.
The difference between hurler and pitcher is so subtle, but so meaningful. Pity that few fans (and even fewer pundits) seem to get this. Like Johnson before age 29, Felix continues to survive on stuff and stuff alone. But, as you note, his stuff is so good that he can be an above average pitcher anyway.
But, good googley moogley how fantastic could Kid K beKome, if/when he finds a Yoda he's willing to listen to? Of course, he's going to need some 20-win seasons to go with those 14 and 15-winners if he's going to make 300 wins by age 40. Unfortunately, he hasn't shown the ability to learn yet. (But, Johnson didn't get it until age 29, so there is certainly still time).
