Just to be clear too...
I wasn't high on Brayan's chances against LHP. I think that was mostly Sandy (and Matt too I think?). It looks like one of those rare cases were a journeyman hitter has a quantum leap in his early 30 (kinda like Ibanez). Those eye excersices seem to be paying off big time. :-)
I WAS very high on Gutierrez from the start though. I thought he was the best player involved in the Putz trade at the time (NOT Putz especially since he was in decline) with elite D in CF and a bat that was showing signs of breaking out. Hes officially a star now. Another great Z call.
NOBODY could have predicted Washburn. I don't think even Z knew that he'd suddenly learn how to pitch. :-)
