Gutz is a much better overall player than Lopez. Its mostly thanks to his world-class defense at a premium position, but Gutz is already a better hitter as well and comes with more offensive upside.
But ya, Gutz and Lopez give the Ms some cheap guys to build around. If the Ms lock Gut up this offseason they may end up with one of the biggest bargain contracts in baseball.
