... that last sentence, in the MLB.com article, I translate as Wok saying "We know he's physically gifted enough to play 2B, 3B, [and maybe shortstop]."   The context isn't position switches to the OF.
It sounds like we've learned that Tui is (as of now anyway) a 2B-3B for the Mariners, as Lopez was when he came up.
Lopez also played significant time at SS in the bigs, though Tui has pretty clearly been targeted for positions other than short.
