Ok, How about Pat Venditte? He's practically on noone's fantasy draft list still and got drafted by yankees in 20th round in 2008. Not alot of velocity however had a great college career and has the unique ability of being a SWITCH PITCHER. Great k/9 , k/bb and very low h/9 during college. Also being the fact that he's a switch pitcher means that he can pitch over 100 IP as a reliever..
IMHO he's a perfect example where you have to look beyond velocity.
Logan Forsythe. Great college career as well. Again olerud/nick johnson/youkillis types are always underated....
However it's also hard to argue about Ackley's number. Their just plain sick..
Ditto with strasburg but then again you don't want to mortgage your team's future on a prospect. It's at best like flipping a coin. At worst, roulette.
