Dunn or the other BIG bat options at 1B/DH give the M's more options to be flexible on the winner of Saunders/Carp in ST.  Bay doesn't.  If he is signed, Saunders only makes it as a 4th/5th OFer, if that, and Carp had better perform.
I like the Boog Powell comp for Dunn.  Frank Howard also seems similar, at least from '67-'70, but as a righty.
