The Red Sox have two really bad contracts in John Lackey and Josh Beckett, but also a good deal of bargains in Youk, Pedrioa, and Lester as well. They have some young talent too. Buchholz, Kalish, and others. They're a little old, but the payroll makes up for some of that.
If you're looking for the most bulletproof team its the Braves (and you don't have root against the Ms since they're in the NL), but the Red Sox are in a very good position as well.
Maybe your girlfriend is the tie-breaker. :-)
