That guy Randy Jones won a Cy one year, and had finished second the year prior.
Gave up a homerun about every other game. One year he gave up 6 taters in 253 innings.
Baffled 'em at the knees and on the black with a slow ball.
But was pretty dang good for a while.
His is the template to shoot for. From Jones then you shoot for John.
BTW, he now hosts a hunting and fishing show.
I remember him well. Guys like that also can throw a bunch of innings. Not much strain on the arm. John blew his arm up...and still came back to throw tons of innings.
A nice guy to have.
