I lived in FL for a time (wish it were true today) and Maler was a big time prospect! Baseball can destroy a good player quite fast. Like golf after missing too many downhill left to right 3 footers. Head takes over.
Speaking of first basemen starting with an M, do you remember Don Minchner?
