Cole certainly seems to be stepping up as the top pitching prospect in the draft. The thing I might like the most is that his makeup/health/mechanics/history go completely unquestioned. I was automatically a fan already just due to the fact that he shot down the Yankees. If Rendon and Cole keep it up, the M's might actually prefer having the #2 pick; then they don't agonize over needing to choose. Don't want to jinx it, but the thought of a Big 3 of Felix/Cole/Pineda - all homegrown, all pitching at Safeco - could be historic.
