Hitters as a whole have interesting and fairly even bell curves for their development patterns.
Pitchers do different things and get different results.  French's FB and especially his breaker both looked better in Spring Training.  Sharper.  He and Pauley were two surprises for me in the desert.  If I hadn't already been assured that they were nothing and would never be anything, I would have thought they were professional pitchers and legit rotation options.
Maybe that's just small sample size and some desert heat talking, but they looked good.  Fister did not.
I would not be surprised at all to see Doug swapped out for the moment and have Luke French or David Pauley take his place.
