Interesting stuff: Wilson up, Langerhans out......Which has long been suggested by some, btw. Langerhans was bringing nothing of value and consuming a spot.
However, It does mean, I suspect (and I applaud) that Wilson will get the chance to be an everyday MLB OF'er. He's going to be penciled in to LF or CF the majority of the days for a while, I a willing to bet. Which is just as it should be...if you bring a guy up, let him play and prove (or not) his abilities.
Bringing him up at the start of a road trip makes sense, too. Let him get acclimated to MLB before you bring him home.
I would suspect that the odd man out, most days, will be Cust. Bradley's bat, while not smoking, is contributing. Against some pitching you'll probably even see Wilson in center and Saunders in the dugout.
Saunders is on track for a record abysmal at-the-bat performance level for a full time MLB OF'er. The modern game (since the 50's) has not seen a full time, long term, OF of his offensive inabilities. He's beyond just working the kinks out and getting hot. Sometimes a swing change does WAY more damage than good.....Saunders is living proof of that. He is shot as a bat threat rigth now.
But Wilson's call-up is just right.
Ackley will be up soon. Jack Wilson will probably be gone (I'ld bet in a trade).
