The bullpen is amazing, the defense is amazing, for sure. I trust those squads to keep up the current performance. The starting pitching...? Well, I guess if you believe in Iwakuma... and Millwood... and New Beavan. Me, I'm not sold. Each of these guys has already had a streak this season where they've shown how bad it can get on their off days: Vargas with his June, Iwakuma with his early-season and his long relief stint, Beavan's, uh, whole first half, Millwood's groin tweaks and early season implosions...
Much as I have faith that John Jaso won't keep being the only hitter on this squad--that at least Ackley, Saunders, Seager and Montero will turn it around, that is to say, not that Jaso will hit the skids--I've got no conviction that the starting rotation can keep allowing
