With bat-first catchers like Jaso, Montero and Zunino and the M's recent fondness fo DHing them, having a third catcher on the roster is a realistic must. A guy like Choi (or Marder) that could step in if needed but not be restricted to the "third catcher" role could be really valuable to the team.
