... to not let past failures taint future possibilities. I find that comping players with failures is just too negative of an approach for me. Each player holds a spark of possibility, and it's that spark that keeps me coming back each and every year. I don't become too emotionally attached to players because of the volatility of baseball reality, but at the same time I hold out hope for each and every one of them.
Know what I mean?
Anyway, I didn't mean to climb up on a soap box. I understand the Burin comp, but I just chose to ignore it ;)
