If you and your loved one want to get out of the city for a while, head just a short ways north of LA to the San Gabriel Mountains and trek the Switzer Falls Hiking Trail.  This short hike will take you through a beautiful mountain and forest landscape, alongside steep cliffs and flowing rivers and eventually to the 50-foot tall SwitzerFalls.  Though often busy with people, the area is still serene enough that you’ll never miss the city.  And when the weather is nice, you can bring along your swimsuits and take a dip in one of the many pools along the trail.  Has anyone hiked the Switzer Falls Trail before?  What was your favorite part of the journey?
