<p>It is also the 50th anniversary of the 6 team expansion of 1967.</p>
<p>Those 6 teams were the #Los_Angeles Kings, #Minnesota North Stars, #California Seals, #Philadelphia Flyers, #Pittsburgh Penguins and St. Louis Blues. The #Minnesota North Stars are the #Dallas Stars now and the #California Seals or better known as the #Oakland Seals were moved to #Cleveland and eventually faded away as bad trades and poor management took its toll. The team has ties to the #San_Jose Sharks and the #History is interesting to read about.</p>
<p>Mike #Napoli signs with #Cleveland...so we're definitely going with Jesus Montero as the RH part of the 1B platoon (and as an occasional DH when Aoki sits to get an extra power bat in certain situations and Cruz plays left).</p>
<p>I like the idea of moving Cano to 1B and trading Elias+ for Ozuna to round out our outfield. After that, I propose we trade Trumbo+ for Jose Ramirez, backup switch-hitting infielder in #Cleveland who is good enough to be a starter at 2B. Fangraphs projects his age-23 season to be 1.4 WAR. He would immediately shore up our defense, but what he does that Taylor doesn't is steal bases and make much more contact (93% in zone, 90% overall vs Taylor's 79%/70% respectively). Looks like good upside to me.
<p>Even if Guti never goes back to being a starter, and the odds are way against him, I will still love him. He is the ultimate underdog - underappreciated when we acquired him, underappreciated in #Cleveland, afflicted with a rare digestive disorder right in his prime, gifted with...only so-so skills but incredible instincts, fighting through an improbable string of bad-luck injuries...and staying positive the entire time. So much so that DiPoto thinks he's the best guy in the Mariner clubhouse for team chemistry.
