The anonymous post below that starts "Ah, but an outsider..." is from me, DaddyO. Signed back in on my PC that had been in repair for a few weeks and for some reason my login name no longer shows up. I'm sure the Klat people are working hard on fixing things, though.

Down on the farm: Kivlehan is 11-23 over the last 5 games, with 4 2B's and 2 HR's. Heating up just in time for the call-up. If #Jackson gets swapped out, watch Kivlehan get some #Seattle CF reps.

Reply - Browns8625 - 8/25/15 3:15pm
Minors or not, that's solid work

Reply - anonymous - 8/25/15 6:28pm
Moe, I got to watch the Rainers here in Colorado Springs. Mostly pitchers all night and Romero's error in left. First time I got to see Romero and he was fooled at the plate all night. Kivlehan played well minus a missed scoop at first. Just nice to see a team from the northwest!!! RockiesJeff

Reply - mickiholley - 10/17/15 4:44pm
it is good to see solid work being done even in the minors, it gives us hope down the road in player development and having players able to come up and positively contribute to the team

Ah, but an outsider might bring in all sorts of self-important notions, might not fit with "the Mariners way" (code for "#Lincoln's way"), might want to teach instead of be taught, might want to be more "in control" than "under control." No sir. #Lincoln has no room for that. He wants to figure out how to fit other teams' success into his own way. Unfortunately, we as Mariners fans have experienced enough of Howard's way to come to the conclusion that it is his way that is fundamentally part of the problem.

Reply - mickiholley - 10/17/15 4:46pm
knowing where the problem is and being able to fix the problem are two different things...Ms fans are frustrated because no one within the organization seems to grasp the importance of cleaning house from top to bottom

Maybe Mather will figure that out as he studies what makes successful organizations tick. (eye roll) I'm still teetering on the edge of outrage over that. Hire an insider and have him study successful franchises. Hint - maybe hiring someone from a successful franchise and giving him the authority to make the changes he deems necessary is step one.

Reply - Browns8625 - 8/25/15 4:38pm
Yes, usually when hiring in sports you look for someone who has had success.. it's a pretty easy formula really...

Reply - mickiholley - 10/17/15 4:48pm
but finding someone who has been successful and willing to take on this mess....is there such a person out there?

I know what you meant Ice...what I was saying is that even unpaid, the Docs in #Seattle are costing the Mariners millions in terrible medical work resulting in unnecessary injuries, protracted medical struggles, and poor on-field performance.

Reply - mickiholley - 10/17/15 4:49pm
I can see that

Matt: What I meant is that the rumors says that the M's don't pay for their doctors. The DOCTORS pay for THEMSELVES to be the M's doctors. Hence Dr. Kevorkian (Khalfayan... That said, he's also the Seahawks' team physician) and Dr. Pedegana in the past.

Reply - Browns8625 - 8/25/15 4:40pm
Wow, that's weird...this can not be this way across the mlb right..?

Reply - mickiholley - 10/17/15 4:49pm
it makes you wonder...

Man Doc, you're "guarantee" (wink-wink) that Marte would never fall below .377 OBP is looking like a pretty good call!! Color me surprised, but he continues to Wee Willie Keeler them.

Reply - Browns8625 - 8/25/15 4:41pm
Props on the call. Hard to do in limited time at end of year. Knew he woukd be lights out in field, but batting I figured would be a bit of atruggle

Reply - mickiholley - 11/1/15 6:31am
that was a good call...it can be difficult sometimes.

BTW...per MLBTR...#Austin #Jackson cleared waivers and is generating a lot of trade interest. So...maybe we'll get another absolutely awful relief pitcher to complete Zduriencik's tenure!

I am having a problem in my outfield until Alex Gordon returns to active duty, so I picked up Gutierrez, because my other options were guys like De Aza that don't necessarily play every day and aren't hitting. Guti plays 3 days a week and scores like 8 points per game...better than some teams' full time starters. :) I also have Cano as my starting 2B. My team's in 2nd in a 20-man keeper league with a 16-3 record (gonna be 17-3 at the end of the regular season most likely), and I'm hoping to win this league for the second straight year and make another boatload of cash. :D But it gives me a solid appreciation for who is playing good #Baseball and lets me enjoy that when the Mariners are unwatchable.
