Agreed @bat. Dunno what it will take or who needs to.speak up to move Rodney along

Smith and Lowe can share the late innings and reduce the wear/tear on each.

Papelbon, for all the baggage, would be better than Rodney for me - if the Phillies want to trade him to somebody that needs a closer, the Ms might want to step up.

I agree with ackley loss, would not personally feel it as much if it happened. Still been debating what else or what we need to do to keep many the pieces we have but get better

Ruiz can be the placeholder until Marlette/Hicks/Littlewood sort out who has the future.

Loved the throwback jerseys today.. walk-off hr to boot...coicidence,..? Big win as we have lost too many close ones this year

Whether its Ackley or #Jackson that gets traded, I'm not going to mourn - more playing time for Guti. Even if he can no longer play CF, he certainly produces. At this point, even if #Jackson is a pending FA, I'd rather keep him and trade Ackley. Domonic Brown and Cooch Ruiz for Ackley and a couple of minor leaguers (Baron? Romero?)?

What's ironic is that Guti was not even considered as part of the team with all the pre-season hype. And the M's have 2 wins they weren't winning.

I'm on record that it's not going to truly change until the ownership is shaken up, but both the M's and the M's milb affiliates look like they're playing the string much of the time. Guti is playing like the games mean something, but is everyone else?

I'm tired of taking "consensus" great picks and then not developing enough of them to staff a winner. #Texas is going to use their farm to get Cole Hamels, it appears. As #Houston rises and the Angels age (albeit slowly), the Rangers are stepping up again. And the As can never be ignored. There is some tremendous talent in the M's minors, but there needs to be improvement somewhere. Methinks a shakeup is required to break out of this rut.

I'm now ready for some changes. More '95 nostalgia, anyone? Jim Beattie, who was director of player development from '90-'95, is currently a scout with #Toronto, after GM stints with #Montreal and #Baltimore. Larry Beinfest is still out there. He was Beattie's assistant in '94-'95 and took over when Beattie went to the Expos, then was a key man in building the teams from '95-2000, before taking over the Expos (and then the Marlins) when Beattie went to #Baltimore. And then Dan Wilson is on the M's staff as MiL catching instructor. TomMac, who I'd like to see stay, worked for/with Beattie during Beattie's tenure with the M's. How about Beinfest for ExecVP/Baseball Ops, Beattie for GM, and Dan Wilson as manager? Put a charge into things?

Buerhle has NEVER missed a turn in the rotation, if I remember correctly.

I was just looking at Mark Buehrle's career numbers and it's amazing how consistent this guy has been his entire career. Since 2001, he's never failed to pitch 200 innings in a season. It's like clockwork. Of course, there are some signs of decline, no question, but you honestly couldn't ask for a more graceful decline than what he's given the teams he's played for.

Montero hitting .331 vs. right handers for Tacoma. He's ready. Trumbo now blocking him.

Happ having a bad outing doe snot change his ultimate value. He is precisely what he is. Jarrod Washburn-level MOR starter. That may not be a sexy property, but, like the Baltic monopoly (in monopoly), it wins games and costs a lot of #Money on the open market.
