Take a Day Out for a Picnic

Sometimes the best way to spend a day with your special someone is to just go for an old-fashioned picnic in the park. There are many great places in Boston for a picnic, though these are some of the better ones. ChristopherColumbusWaterfrontPark is a nice little spot on the harbor and it’s not too far from civilization. Or a little further out is PiersPark, another great waterfront picnic spot.

Or take a trip to the Coit Observatory on Wednesday nights for their Public Open Night.

Sandy could barely walk before a dog charity raised the funds to send him to Cambridge, where a top surgeon performed Sandy’s surgery for free.

Sandy (shown above post-surgery) is now almost completely healed, and is undergoing post-surgical physical therapy so that he can learn to walk again.

Brick & Mortar

Brick and Mortar is a great speakeasy-like bar in Cambridge that attempts to take the typical speakeasy model and make it more accessible to the general public.  You can go here to enjoy the elegant décor and masterfully crafted cocktails without feeling like you have to be on your best behavior.  Still, you’ll end up with drinks that are a step above the rest and bar food that is pretty decent.  If you’re looking for a drinking spot where you can relax and meet new people that is calmer than the typical drinking scene but not too

The Druid

Another great Cambridge bar, The Druid is a place that dedicates themselves to bringing the best of the Irish pub to the Boston area.  The beer selection consists of both Irish and local selections and their bar food is served in portions big enough that you won’t need to order more than one thing.  The friendly and casual ambiance lends itself to one of The Druid’s primary goals - creating a space where people can come together, drink and enjoy a good conversation.  If you want a great Irish neighborhood bar, The Druid is t
