Bernice’s Tavern is an amazing
Of course, since the beginning, the Sims franchise has had two exterior lighting effects: daylight and nighttime. And it seems to me like it used to get darker in Sims 2 if there was a thunderstorm (required the Seasons expansion pack). But I may be mis-remembering that.
New worlds are always a little underwhelming. The only one that has REALLY been a change was Bridgeport, with its towering downtown skyscrapers (which turned out to just be regular houses with an unusually tall skin, and with elevators that were constantly breaking down, to boot).
I haven't really talked about fishing as a skill, because frankly I find it pretty boring. Although on the up side, it is one of the few skills that children and teens can work on. (Kids can even fish from swimming pools!)
Barnacle Bay came out last September, but I haven't bothered to buy and download it until now for two reasons:
1. I didn't really understand what it was.
Now I don't like to go around making unfounded assertions. So I will just say that "It SEEMS LIKE the marketing department doesn't know the first thing about this game or how it works." Which IT SEEMS is why the marketing material is so confusing.
I have to admit, I'm a little baffled by the subway system that was introduced with the Late Night expansion pack. Much like the food trucks, you cannot edit the subway stations or add more to the system. (Which is too bad, because I have a family living at the very top of Overlook Hill, and they could really use a subway station closer to their home.)
Food trucks were introduced with the Late Night expansion pack, although only to the Bridgeport town. This seems to be by design, although it is a puzzling choice on EA's part. Certainly the Late Night expansion pack has been out long enough that, were there a patch to fix food truck limitations, you would think it would have been released by now.
The Omni Plant is arguably the best plant you can grow in The Sims 3. (Some might say that this honor belongs to the Money Tree - which is pretty awesome, and easier to get. I understand this point of view, but the Omni Plant is still pretty darned cool.)
Unfortunately, the Omni Plant is also virtually impossible to obtain. This makes it one of the most frustrating challenges in The Sims 3, which is perhaps only fitting.
What is an Omni Plant?
