They did it! The Seattle Thunderbirds are advancing to the WHL Championship after defeating the Kelowna Rockets in all four conference games. This was after being the Prince George Cougars all four rounds as well, giving them a pretty impressive record. During the second round, the Birds only lost one game to the Everett Silvertips, advancing after winning 4-1. The first game of the championship is coming up next Friday, May 6, but it will be in Brandon. If you have the time and cash to travel and see the game in person, the Birds would surely enjoy the support.

On Friday night, the Brandon Wheat Kings defeated the Red Deer Rebels 5-2 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Championship, winning their best of seven series with a final score of 4-1 games, which isn’t far from the results of the T-Birds’ games against Kelowna during the past two weeks. Do you think the teams could be evenly matched at this point?

While Game 1 and Game 2 will be on the Kings’ turf, Game 3 and Game 4 will both be held at the ShoWare Center and tickets are going on sale for the events on May 3. You can Unleash the Thunder with the team and cheer them on live by purchasing your tickets! They will be available online as well as during regular box office hours Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Game 3 will be a 2 for Tuesday special, so you can purchase two tickets to the May 10 game for the price of one. The game starts at 7:05. Game 4 will be on a Wednesday night, May 11, with the puck dropping at 7:05 again. If you are one of the first 5,000 fans to purchase tickets to Game 4, you will also get a limited edition FREE T-Birds white t-shirt. Will you be there to see the T-Birds take on the Wheat Kings?
