Sounders Lose Against Real Salt Lake
Final score is 2-1

After losing their first home match of the season last week, the Seattle Sounders have another loss for the 2016 season under their belt as of today. Real Salt Lake took this victory at the Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy, Utah on Saturday, with Jamison Olave scoring the winning goal during the 85th minute of the game. RSL’s Sunny scored the first goal. Seattle’s only goal was scored by Osvaldo Alonso, and while many are asking why it took him four years on the team to score a goal, you have to remember—we used to have Martins and Dempsey doing the majority of that.

Would you agree that Dempsey is carrying the team on his own these days? That is the gist of a lot of people’s complaints, and as valid as they are, we still have some talent on the team. Whether that talent can finally come together and form a cohesive unit on the field remains to be seen.

Fans are demanding to know when the GM vote is after the loss, many blaming management of the team for the loss. Fans are calling out Lagerwey and joking that Schmid’s coaching history alone is going to have to carry the team to the playoff games since they aren’t doing so hot this season so far. Other fans are demanding that Jordan Morris, no matter his college record, earn his keep on the team and sit out before earning the chance to start—but others are pointing out that without Martins and so many cuts made during the pre-season, does Schmid really have that much of a choice?

Then again, it is still quite early in the season to start dismissing players, coaching and management altogether. Perhaps we are just getting our losses out of the way and the next match will be a winner. Do you think the Sounders will turn it all around quickly and the naysayers will be eating crow for dinner soon, or that with the current roster they are doomed?

Seattle’s next game will be on Saturday, March 19 versus the Vancouver Whitecaps FC. It’s a home game so if you want to show your rave green support, be sure to get your tickets and head to the game at 7:00 PM. If you can’t make it, be sure to tune in to Q13 FOX, Univision-Seattle, KIRO Radio 97.3 FM or El Rey 1360 AM so you don’t miss a minute of the action.
