Mariners Minor League Game Action Recap for July 28
Eddie cruises again ... Tenbrink battles ... Kivle-fans enjoy ... Victor a bit off ... etc.

AAA -- Reno 6, Tacoma 5  -- Box

Nate Tenbrink (26intheMix) may be watching the grains of sand dwindle in his MLB hourglass, but he's not going down without a fight.   The Kansas State prospect's three-run blast in the 3rd gave Tacoma a short-lived 4-3 lead.  He also added a single and a walk.

Ty Kelly had four singles, and Brandon Bantz had three.

It was a rough outing for Andrew Carraway (Watch List): 5.0 IP, 6 ER.

AA -- Huntsville 7, Jackson 2  -- Box

The Generals were generally not so great on Sunday, but James Jones (Watch List) managed a hit, two walks and a stolen base.

Tyler Burgoon (26intheMix) added two more strikeouts to his total, and now has 61 in 43.1 IP (12.7 K/9).

High-A -- Inland Empire 7, High Desert 4 -- Box

Despite the loss, a good day for the Kivle-fans.  Patrick Kivlehan (Talk40 #33) had his ninth overall homer, plus two singles.

Jordan Shipers (26intheMix) made his first Cal League start since May 9, and had mixed results: 4.2 IP, 2 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 K.

Low-A -- Cedar Rapids 3, Clinton 1 -- Box

What's Your Vector, Victor?  A little off course.  Victor Sanchez (Talk40 #12): 6.0 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K.

No lumber from the LumberKings.  D.J. Peterson: 0-for-4, still adjusting to the Midwest League.

Short Season-A -- Everett 6, Hillsboro 0 -- Box

Steven Ewing, still not related to J.R., but putting up some good numbers: 6.2 IP, 4 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 5 K.  On the year: 4.24 ERA | 1.26 WHIP | 2.9 BB/9 | 9.1 K/9

Jack Reinheimer got his first pro home run, and has been showing a solid ability to get on base: .274/.361/.322.

Reggie Lawson had two doubles.

Rookie -- Greenville 10, Pulaski 1 -- Box

Eddie Campbell turned in another high-strikeout performance: 6.0 IP, 6 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 9 K.

His line for the year: 2.10 ERA | 0.90 WHIP | 3.2 BB/9 | 14.0 K/9

Ian Miller had three walks.

AZL Rookie -- Royals 7, Mariners 2 -- Box

Shortstop Luis Caballero had two hits and a walk.  The 20-year-old is hitting .306/.398/.353 and has played four different positions (short, third, second and left).

Looking Ahead

Will the Hillsboro Hops "Fear the Zokan"?  As in Jacob Zokan?  Guess we'll find out.

Edwin Diaz (Talk40 #36) is set for Pulaski.

Shout box doesn't seem to work. Either that or there will 6 identical posts from me sometime later tonight....Shout button doesn't do anything at all.

Peterson got a hit in his first game back in Everett, but otherwise he's been basically abominable since that fielding injury.  Maybe it has nothing to do with it, but I wouldn't count it out. Also, more love for The Goon, Tyler Burgoon! Good kid, love his stuff, and hope he gets a shot.
Also, Padna - I'm not having any trouble with the shout box.  Sometimes I run into Explorer conflicts where it won't refresh or post, but if I close out it's fine the next time around.  I assume you've already done that, so assuming your shouts are not too long (Because it won't post giant paragraphs, OR tell you that it didn't) I don't know what the problem is.
Do we need to forward this on to tech folks and see if there's anything on the back end that can analyze the problem, Spec and Doc?

I'm putting the post together, clicking "Shout"....nothing...seems like the site doesn't acknowledge that, but does everything else.

The site ate some of my longer shouts a month or so ago. There seems to be a word limit on shouts. If you chop your shout up into several shouts, and post it, it may work
